whatever. is the 4th release by the Chicago powerhouse 13-Monsters. Written largely in Canada by guitarist Jamie Riani while on 2 trips to remote areas of Ontario and Northwest Territories. about
This song was recorded in two different countries and 3 different cities over the course of 2 years. The first half of the song was written and composed by Jamie while on a flight from upper Canada to the U.S. The words were done months later by Deb on her phone while in a hotel in NYC. The remainder of the music was done by Jamie in Chicago while recuperating from surgery a year later.
It is an intensely personal song that tells everything your mother didn't tell you but should have. We were not even going to release it...but..whatever.
Enjoy.
lyrics
Hello?
Hello.
Im sorry to tell you
The people surrounding you are an audience to a circus side show
People that are your friends will not be your friends forever
You must know that everyone will break your heart
I know this hurts, but things are going to hurt all the time
I need to tell you, you'll lose the things that mean a lot to you
and people...you'll lose them too
No one will tell you, you're going to be tired all the time
You must know, there are people who want to see you fail
I'm sorry to tell you that everyone will leave
Your friends are temporary
You've been expected to take the wrong path
I need you to understand that happiness is an illusion
Please listen when I tell you, you can't really count on anyone
I need you to understand that everyone only wants to hear themselves
No one will stay forever
You can't count on people when you need them
Please listen when I tell you, they're going to break your heart
They'll talk about you when you leave the room
Im sorry to tell you
The person you love may not love you
That person isn't good enough
You won't be able to stand much longer
When you get up you're going to get knocked down again
One more thing..
They can't kill you..
I won't let them.
